Perth tech company to connect Sydney’s west
One of Australia’s most complex and ambitious infrastructure projects has embraced a digital management system spearheaded by a Perth tech firm.
The AUD$16.8 billion dollar WestConnex project is creating a 33-kilometre tolled motorway linking Sydney’s west and south west. To help this complex project run more efficiently, Silverhorse Technologies is deploying its web based system called Completions Connect.
Silverhorse’s technology is being used for the third stage of the project, the WestConnex M4-M5 Link Tunnels, with the project scheduled for completion in 2023.
Instead of generating paperwork, M4-M5 Link Tunnels staff are using Completions Connect to update the exact status of all the project’s mechanical and electrical components as they are installed.
Completions Connect is providing access to all Inspection Test Records (ITRs) that verify quality, and will govern the commissioning phase before the road system is made operational.
Workers in the field are able to input data using digital tablets while those in an office can interact with Completions Connect through a web based system. This integration enables managers to make decisions and workers to track issues and progress in real time.
“Silverhorse’s Completions Connect offers seamless governance, ensuring nothing is missed and everything is completed in a totally transparent manner,” said Silverhorse Technologies Chief Executive Officer Raymond Weeda.
The M4-M5 Link Tunnels are being delivered by the Acciona Samsung Bouygues Joint Venture, comprising Acciona Infrastructure Projects Australia, Samsung C&T Corporation and Bouygues Construction.
The Acciona Bouygues Joint venture is also using Completions Connect to track construction at the $3-billion dollar NorthConnex project connecting Sydney’s Orbital Network to the National Highway route.
WestConnex is part of an integrated transport plan which will provide crucial support for Sydney’s long-term economic and population growth, easing congestion, creating jobs and connecting communities.
Its ongoing construction comes as Australia’s state and federal governments are investing billions of dollars in infrastructure projects to help the national economy recover from the impact of COVID-19.
By providing an innovative digital platform through Completions Connect, Silverhorse is helping to drive the success of one of Australia’s largest road infrastructure projects, proving its ability to harness the power of data in any industry.
